Practicum Project

This practicum project has been eye-opening to say the least. My topic is Minority Groups and Internet Use. I decided to focus my research on Latinos and how they use the internet. As a Latino myself I felt that I had a good grasp of the internet. However, after researching statistics from various sources I come to the realization that many Latinos don't go online. There are numerous reasons for this, many which I will touch on in class. I am very aware of the socio-economic issues facing many Latinos but I hadn't made the connection to internet use, at least not explicitly. I learned more Latinos use cell phones than the internet, but as the lines between computer and phone blur will internet use increase among Latinos?
